The Executive Committee is responsible for the day-to-day management of Marex Spectron Group.

Ian Lowitt

CEO

Ian Lowitt joined Marex Spectron in July 2012 as CFO, becoming CEO in January 2016. He was previously at Barclays Wealth America where he served as Chief Operating Officer. Prior to Barclays, Ian spent 14 years at Lehman Brothers, latterly as CFO and prior to that, as Co-Chief Administrative Officer.

Paolo Tonucci

COO

Paolo Tonucci joined Marex Spectron in March 2018 as Chief Operating Officer. He was previously at Commonwealth Bank of Australia (Commbank) based in Sydney, where he was Group Treasurer, with responsibility for funding, capital and balance sheet management. Before Commbank, he was Head of Funding and Liquidity at Barclays Bank in London. Prior to Barclays, Paolo spent 12 years at Lehman Brothers in London and New York, latterly as Global Treasurer where he managed a team of 220. Paolo is a Chartered Accountant and has an MA in Economics from the University of Cambridge.

Steve Sparke

Vice Chairman

Steve Sparke was appointed Group Vice Chairman in March 2018 after ten years as Chief Operating Officer. Mr Sparke has also been chairman of the Futures Industry Association Europe (FIAE), the main trade association for the European derivatives industry, since the end of 2007. Prior to joining Marex Spectron, Mr Sparke was managing director and global head of exchange-traded derivatives at UBS from 1998 to 2006 and headed the Short Term Rates trading Business for SBC London from 1994 to 1998. Mr. Sparke graduated with a law degree from Nottingham University in 1979.

Rob Watts

CFO

Rob Watts, Chief Financial Officer, joined Marex Spectron in 2014 after eight years at Goldman Sachs, where he managed the legal entity control team responsible for Goldman Sachs International. Before Goldman, he was at Deloitte's Financial Services Audit & Assurance practice, responsible for the statutory and regulatory audits of a number of important clients including BGC / Cantor Fitzgerald, the commodities business at Morgan Stanley, and the private wealth management division of The Royal Bank of Scotland Group plc. He is a qualified Chartered Accountant.

Hunter Baldwin

Managing Director, Head of U.S. and Joint Head of Energy

Hunter Baldwin joined Marex Spectron in July of 2010 from Newedge where he spent 12 years in various roles, including head of Fixed Income. He started his career on the Chicago Board of Trade in 1988 as a broker. From 1992 through 1996 he was Divisional Head of futures for Deutsche Bank Australia.

Simon van den Born

Global Head of Metals

Simon van den Born joined Marex Spectron in 2010 and was appointed to the Board of Marex Spectron Group in January 2016. He previously spent ten years at Goldman Sachs in the Commodity Index and Metals teams before moving to become a Portfolio Manager at Valhalla Capital Management in 2004.

Jeremy Elliott

Joint Head of Energy

Jeremy Elliott joined Marex Spectron in September 2013 from ICAP as COO of the Energy division before becoming MD and co-head in August 2014. Jeremy held a number of roles at ICAP latterly as business manager of the Energy unit with primary responsibility for new business initiatives and electronic broking. He has more than 15 years' experience in the financial and energy markets.

James Hearn

Head of Agriculture

James Hearn joined Marex Financial in 2007 when he sold his brokerage Carlton Commodities Ltd to the firm. He trained at Dean Witter.

Steve Hills

Head of Pro Trader

Steve Hills joined Marex Spectron as part of the acquisition of the Professional Trader Services business of Schneider Trading Associates in May 2012 and was Co-Head of the Marex Spectron Pro Trader Division before becoming the sole Head of the Division in September 2014. He was previously a Director of LIFFE (Holdings) PLC and beforehand ran the option market making department of Morgan Grenfell Securities until setting up his own proprietary trading and broking firm in 1989, which was acquired by Bink Bank/ Fortis Bank.

Nilesh Jethwa

CEO, Marex Solutions

Nilesh Jethwa is the CEO of Marex Solutions, which he set up in 2017. He was previously at Leonteq, a Swiss-based FinTech company, which he helped launch and was ultimately IPO'd, running their Markets Division, managing Trading, Sales Structuring, Quantitative Analytics and Treasury. Prior to Leonteq, he spent eight years at Lehman Brothers, latterly as Head of Stock Exotics trading for Europe and Middle East. He is a Non-Executive Director of Ardent Media and Trustee of Noah's Ark Children's Hospice. Nilesh has an MA (hons) in Mathematics from the University of Cambridge.

Ed Paget-Brown

Head of Legal and Compliance

Ed Paget-Brown joined Marex Spectron in June 2010 as Head of Legal and Compliance from Xconnect Trading Limited. Ed has been a partner in private practice, responsible for creating Evershed's Financial Services Regulation and Litigation group and, prior to that, spent 18 years at Calyon Corporate and Investment Bank including 10 years as UK Group General Counsel. He has an LLB, MBA and was called to the Bar in 1992 before transferring to become a Solicitor in 2006.

Richard Reid

Chief Risk Officer

Richard Reid became Chief Risk Officer in August 2015, having joined Marex Spectron in February 2014 as Head of Market, Credit & Operational Risk. He started his career at Credit Suisse First Boston in several control function roles, before moving into a proprietary trading position. He moved to BHP Billiton, serving as a Market Risk Manager, before returning to Credit Suisse to start up the market risk function in the bank's commodities business. At Credit Suisse he also served as Head of Commodities Market Risk, EMEA & Asia and Senior Director and Secretary to the Credit Suisse Capital Allocation & Risk Management Committee (CARMC) as well the Investment Bank Risk Management Committee (IB RMC).

Alison Forward

Head of Group Human Resources

Alison Forward is Head of Group Human Resources. She joined in 2018 from British Business Bank where she was Managing Director HR. Previously, Alison was at HSBC where she performed various roles including the Global Head of HR for the Retail Business. Alison has also held senior HR roles at Prudential PLC and AXA Insurance. She is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development and has an MSc in Occupational Psychology and a BSc in Psychology.

Ben Bennett

Global Head of Operations

Ben Bennett joined in 2010 as Global Head of Operations. He was previously at Man Group, where he spent 14 years, latterly as the head of global middle office for financial futures. He has more than 20 years' experience in financial services.

Nick Benson

Chief Information Officer

Nick Benson is Chief Information Officer, responsible for all global technology, facilities and the Group's business continuity. Nick has been at the firm since 2006, having joined from Refco Overseas Ltd., where he was in charge of corporate and client networks, as well as low latency connectivity.
